The second day of the 2024-2025 Champions League began this Tuesday, October 1, including the Arsenal-PSG and Salzburg- matches. Discover the complete ranking of this LDC.

The Champions League continues to launch its brand new format. While the most prestigious club competition takes place this season with 36 teams, the second day began this Tuesday, October 1. The groups of four teams have disappeared to make way for a unique championship where each team faces eight different opponents (four at home, four away). This first phase is called the “league phase”.

On the French side, Brest and PSG were on deck this Tuesday evening. Traveling to Salzburg, the Bretons, winners of their first meeting against Sturm Graz two weeks ago (2-1), did it again by offering a demonstration on the Salzburg pitch (4-0). The Bretons are second in the ranking. After their inaugural victory against Girona (1-0), the Parisians lost to Arsenal (2-0) and are in 18th place.

At the end of this first phase, the first eight in the ranking will be directly qualified for the round of 16. The teams ranked between 9th and 24th place will compete in a round-trip play-off to determine the other eight qualified for the round of 16. Between 25th and 36th place, clubs will be eliminated from the Champions League and will not be transferred to the Europa League.

This Wednesday, October 2, and Monaco respectively have an appointment with Real Madrid (9 p.m.) and Dinamo Zagreb (9 p.m.). Losc will have the privilege of receiving Kylian Mbappé’s teammates, while ASM travels to Croatia.
