Boss of men’s skiing, Marco Odermatt never seems satisfied. Less than a month before the start of the 2024/2025 season, the Nidwalden expressed his desires, with a particular objective: the descent from Kitzbühel.
Even if the highlight of the winter will be the meeting in Saalbach, where the world championships will be contested, Marco Odermatt dreams of winning on the Streif. “This will certainly be my big goal for the winter“, he confided on the sidelines of the Swiss-Ski equipment handover day.
Beaten last January by a stratospheric Cyprien Sarrazin, “Odi” would therefore like to take his revenge on the Austrian snow. But he also knows that the upcoming exercise is filled with other potential highlights. Including the defense of his world titles. “I don’t see it as pressure, because it’s not like I have to give back my medals if I fail to retain my titleshe said. Those of 2023 are mine and if someone is better than me this year… But of course the goal is to win others!“
Less than a month before arriving in Sölden for the start of the exercise, Marco Odermatt again admitted to having had a good summer: “I trained well, in good conditions, without focusing on anything in particular.”
