In recent years, Club Brugge has made several gold-digging deals on the transfer market. The national champion is therefore optimistic and believes that Dévy Rigaux’s flair is not inferior to that of Vincent Mannaert. Even if the ex-CEO has also had serious hitches here and there.

Just think of the painful debacle of the record acquisition of Roman Yaremchuk, who left Jan Breydel last summer for a fraction of his purchase price. The Blauw and Zwart also hoped to permanently get rid of a number of other superfluous flops, but unfortunately did not do so in time. This is the case of Faitout Maouassa, whose expiring contract was terminated by mutual agreement.

Club gets rid of Boyata

This information is confirmed by The Newspaperwhich specifies that Dedryck Boyata is no longer part of the A-team and must even train separately. Since it also seems that the 33-year-old defender has no intention of joining Club NXT, he could well follow Maouassa’s example. The latest news notes that no solution is expected to be found before the New Year.

Boyata was already expressly invited to find a new employer last summer, but this approach proved fruitless. In addition to his age and susceptibility to injuries, the former Red Devil’s exorbitant salary, which is said to amount to around three million per year, proved to be an insurmountable problem. Especially since Boyata does not want to compromise on his salary.

Sowah is not selectable

It remains to be seen whether the club will be able to convince the big salaryman, who is a heavy burden on the wage bill, to break his contract. If not, he will probably be stuck with Boyata until next summer, when his lucrative contract will finally expire.

Much like Kamal Sowah’s contract, for that matter, which has rarely managed to justify its hefty price tag of some nine million. After unsuccessful loan spells at AZ and Standard, he briefly looked set to join FC Juarez in Mexico, but after that deal fell through, he has not been training with the first team for some time, according to The news sheet.

Hayen is therefore no longer counting on the versatile attacker, who will therefore not be retained if he wants to try his luck elsewhere soon.
