As every year, the prospects available in the NHL draft will be ranked by experts, analysts, journalists and fans, for the pleasure of getting an idea of which players could be available when your favorite team speaks.
We remember that last year, there was a clear consensus for the first choice with Connor Bedardbut there were also a few other players who stood out in almost everyone’s top 5.
It is sometimes difficult to place such a player in front of another and that is why some prefer to classify prospects by tier.
For those unfamiliar with the term, a tier is a sort of step or plateau. For example, the first round of a repechage can be divided into 6 tier different. From strongest to weakest, several players are grouped in each tier by their similar potential.
The analyst David Ettedgui took part in the exercise for the first round of this year and here is the result:
