But to win this second trophy in its history, Atalanta will have to defeat Juventus in the final on May 15 as in 2021. In the semi-final return, the Bergamo club dominated Fiorentina (4-1). Beaten in the first leg by Fiorentina (1-0), the Dea started the match in the best possible way by opening the scoring in the eighth minute thanks to Teun Koopmeiners. His prospects improved significantly in the 53rd minute when the Fio found themselves reduced to ten after the exclusion of Nikola Milenkovic for a foul on Gianluca Scamacca who was heading towards goal.

But by equalizing in the 68th minute against the run of play thanks to Lucas Martinez Quarta, the Florentines took the upper hand in the results of the two confrontations. But outnumbered, the Tuscan team ended up collapsing at the end of the match, conceding three goals in the last quarter of an hour: Scamacca (75′), Lookman (90’+6), Pasalic (90’+8) .
