The Royal Moroccan Football Federation has entrusted national voter Walid Regragui, coach of the first Moroccan national team, with a new mission.
According to a well-informed source, Fawzi Lakjaa has entrusted Walid Regragui with the task of choosing a coach for the local team, which will participate in the qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations for local teams “Al-Shan” next October.
Regragui oversees Olympic and local teams
This step is part of Regragui’s role as general supervisor of the Olympic and local teams, since last June he appointed Tariq Sketioui as coach of the Olympic team, which won the bronze medal at the last Olympic Games in France.
Announcement to come regarding new coach
The identity of the new coach of the local team is expected to be announced by the end of this week, ahead of the final phase of the Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled for next February in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
It is worth noting that Morocco had already organized “Al-Shan” in 2018, and that the Moroccan team had won the title in the 2018 and 2020 editions.
