Kylian Mbappé scored against Stuttgart (3-1) and had a successful debut in the Champions League with Real Madrid on Tuesday. But the French striker believes he can do even better.

Kylian Mbappé (25 years old) is having a rather successful start with Real Madrid. Arriving as a free agent this summer after leaving PSG, the French striker scored his first goal in the Champions League in his new colours on Tuesday against Stuttgart (3-1). His fifth goal in seven games with the Merengues. A sign of confidence that was quickly acquired, even if he believes he can do even better.

“With every match, I feel better”

“I can do more… I know I can do more,” he told Movistar after the match. “With every game I feel better and now I’m scoring goals.”

“I’m happy here,” he added, assuring that winning the Champions League was not his only goal in Madrid. “When you play for Real Madrid, you have to win all the titles,” he warned. “For me, it’s a negative thing to come here and say I only want the Champions League. We try to win every game and when you wear that badge, you have to win.”

He doesn’t blame Endrick for his solo goal after “forgetting” him

The 2018 world champion also spoke about the last goal scored by Endrick with a long-range shot full of nerve when the Brazilian also had the possibility of passing the ball to Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius, unmarked alongside him. “He scores the goal, that’s the most important thing,” he agreed. “He’s an 18-year-old boy, it’s difficult to go to Europe and play for Real Madrid… but he has a minute and he scores his goal. It’s important.”

On Tuesday, Mbappé became the 15th Real player to score in his first Champions League match with the club. He imitated Christian Karembeu, the only French player from Madrid to have achieved this feat in 1998 against Bayer Levekrusen. With his solo goal in injury time, Endrick (18), who arrived this summer from Palmeiras, quickly copied him.
