Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), was the victim of a road accident on Monday in Rabat, while he was going to the Mohammed VI Football Center.

According to information gathered by Hesport from a well-informed Source, the accident occurred while Lekjaa was heading towards the Mohammed VI complex.

The incident coincided with the national futsal team’s match against Tajikistan, which took place on Monday, marking the start of the African champions’ journey in the World Cup taking place in Uzbekistan.

The Source said the accident did not cause any personal injuries, although Lekjaa’s car and the other vehicle involved suffered material damage. Both vehicles were taken care of by maintenance and rescue services.

It was also highlighted that Lekjaa closely follows all the details regarding the national teams and visits the Mohammed VI Football Center almost daily, even on public holidays such as this Monday, September 16, 2024, corresponding to Eid Mawlid, which is a day off.

In the futsal match, the Moroccan national team won 4-2 against Tajikistan, thus taking the lead in Group E tied with Portugal, who beat Panama 10-1, but with a better goal difference for the Portuguese.

The Futsal World Cup will continue in Uzbekistan until October 6, 2024, with great ambitions for the Moroccan team to achieve good results and go far in the competition
