A new racist incident hit Spanish football on Saturday. The young Frenchman Haissem Hassan (22 years old) was called a “son of a bitch” and a “shit monkey” by a supporter of Sporting Gijon, who were hosting their great rivals Real Oviedo on the 4th day of the 2nd division.
The incident occurred in the 66th minute of the Asturian derby. A video shared on social media clearly shows a woman wearing a Sporting jersey uttering the insults, which, according to Marca, were aimed at the winger born in Bagnolet (Seine-Saint-Denis) to an Egyptian father and a Tunisian mother, who moved from Gijon to Oviedo this summer.
Trained at Paris FC then at Châteauroux, the former French U17 and U18 international joined Spain in 2020, where he previously played for Villarreal and Mirandés.
