Faced with the imminent departure of Elye Wahi from Eintracht Frankfurt, Olympique de Marseille is trying to recruit a new striker. Dutch international Brian Brobbey is one of the avenues being studied. But unless there is a change in the situation, the Ajax Amsterdam center forward is heading towards England instead.
Once again, Olympique de Marseille is looking for an attacker. The Marseille club has already lost confidence in Elye Wahi who will join Eintracht Frankfurt only a few months after his arrival last summer. A losing bet for the Marseille club which will nevertheless recover 26 million euros (excluding bonuses) in this operation. Suffice to say that President Pablo Longoria has enough to finance the recruitment of a new scorer. This could once again be a promising young talent likely to bring added value in the years to come.
OM dropped by West Ham
In addition to the priority track which leads to Santiago Giménez (23 years old, Feyenoord Rotterdam), Olympique de Marseille is also interested in Brian Brobbey. The striker who will turn 23 next week is not an indisputable starter at Ajax Amsterdam. This season, the Dutch international (7 caps) under contract until 2027 has started around half of his team's matches in the Eredivisie. Its leaders therefore opened the door to a departure, but under certain conditions which may have cooled the Marseillais.

For the moment, it is West Ham which has taken the lead, and which is negotiating according to the terms imposed by Ajax Amsterdam. A dry loan is not on the cards for Brian Brobbey whose superiors are demanding a permanent transfer or a loan with a significant purchase obligation, specify talkSPORT and journalist Fabrizio Romano. This is apparently not a problem for the Hammers, well on their way to forcing Olympique de Marseille to abandon this file.
