Eleven winners in Brittany, including five in Côtes-d'Armor and one in Lannion: the Breton Federation of biosourced sectorsits member sectors and its partners launched in April 2024 a Call for Expression of Interest (AMI) heard by local authorities and other public structures with a building renovation project. Objective, to use biosourced materials and raw earth.
“Decarbonize the building”
These biosourced materials are partially or totally derived from biomass, such as wood (lumber and related products), hemp, rapeseed, miscanthus, rice husk, straw, flax shives, cork , corncob, reed, sheep’s wool…
Reducing carbon emissions in the building sector is a real challenge, in both construction and renovation. Biosourced materials, due to their characteristics and performance, are a solution for decarbonizing buildings.
Ker Uhel's educational space
The renovation projects that will be supported concern buildings for children and youth (nursery, school or school group, children's center, MJC, educational space), housing, offices.
-In Lannion, it is the renovation and extension of theespace éducatif de Ker Uhel which was selected by the jury.
“Each winner will be able to benefit fromfree support (provision of the skills and knowledge of the Federation and its member sectors) throughout the duration of the project, until the end of the project. Of the exemplary biosourced and geosourced projects are thus emerging in the region and will soon generate interesting feedback.”
