President of Louhans-Cuiseaux FC during the prosperous years, Jacky Duriez died at 97. The Saône-et-Loire club pays tribute to him.
A very good amateur footballer, Jacky Duriez could have become professional. In the 1950s, he was requested by FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, RC Lens and the Girondins de Bordeaux. But he prioritized his career by taking over from his father at the head of the family company Oftel, a specialist in the manufacturing of animal feed based in Louhans. Nicknamed the “Sheriff” during his presidency, Jacky Duriez allowed the club from these two small towns to remain in the Second Division for around twenty years.
