In search of playing time with the professionals, Liana Joseph and Maeline Mendy will first go to gain experience in Alsace, near Strasbourg (D1).
After Alice Marques (Valencia) and Julie Heavy (Reims), two new young footballers leave OL on loan. Liana Joseph and Maeline Mendytwo elements between the reserve and professional groups, will garner playing time elsewhere, but always in France, and in the Premier League. This Wednesday, the club formalized their departure to Strasbourg, currently 10th in D1 and in the fight for maintenance.
Both have a contract until 2027
Aged 18, the two Lyonnaises should logically play several championship matches with Strasbourg in the second part of the season. Under contract until 2027, they both have the future ahead of them, and will gain experience during these few months away from Décines.
In the 2024-2025 financial year, the midfielder played two matches in all competitions, compared to only one for the attacker. Over the coming months, this total is expected to skyrocket. It’s also a way for them to make themselves known to the staff who will continue to follow them closely.
