OM offered themselves a second victory in a row in 2025, it was Rennes who lost 1-2 without having offered much against De Zerbi's men. Here is Pierre-Emile Højbjerg's note and assessment during this first meeting of the 17th day of Ligue 1.
L’Marseille Olympic won a valuable victory Rennes (2-1) during the 17th day of Ligue 1. After a lively first act, where Roll pushed back a penaltyOM conceded the opening score by Calimuendo before immediately equalizing thanks to Greenwood (1-1, 45th). In the second half, Rabiot offered victory to the Marseillais with a header from a cross from Greenwood (1-2, 49th). In addition to a few Marseille opportunities, notably a save from SambaOM controlled the pace in the second half, helped by the exit of Calimuendo at the break. This victory allows OM to put Monaco on 5 points, while widening the gap on their other pursuers, Lille et Lyon. With five wins in their last six matches, Marseille continues to display good form.

His appreciation
Essential in the balance of the team, the Danish midfielder shone with his patient restarts and ball recoveries. But it was above all his one-touch pass, at the origin of a perfect collective action, which allowed OM to equalize (45th). Another brilliant performance from the Marseille vice-captain, who was able to combine offensive efficiency and defensive solidity. He was ill the previous week, he came back even more efficient after a slightly less good end to 2024!
Media notes
Team Rating | 7/10 | His one-touch pass was at the origin of a perfect collective action and the equalizing goal for OM (45th). The Danish midfielder was not only decisive, he was also essential in the balance of the team, patient restarts and ball recoveries. Another brilliant performance from the Marseille vice-captain. |
Maxifoot rating | 6/10 | Back in the eleven after missing the match against Le Havre, the midfielder brought his serenity to the midfield. Although he had little influence on his team's offensive play at the start of the match, the Dane served Murillo perfectly in Marseille's equalizer before the break. |
Note from FootMercato | 7/10 | Back in the Marseille eleven, the Dane showed off all his class. Valuable in recovering the ball, the former Tottenham player showed that he has something special in this meeting by exuding quite brilliant authority. Author of an incredibly well-timed pass towards Murillo during the Marseille equalizer, the captain of the Danish selection missed a few overly presumptuous passes. Calm and temperate, he dictated the tempo of the game and gave OM what was needed when it was needed, between presence in the duels and technical quality in Marseille's rapid projections. |
