Guest of the Focus Dimanche show on RTL, Presnel Kimpembe took stock of his situation at PSG and his future in the French team.
When will we see Presnel Kimpembe on a football field again? While he has been participating in PSG’s collective sessions since mid-October, the 2018 world champion has still not returned to competition.
His last appearance was on February 26, 2023, when he seriously injured his Achilles tendon on the Vélodrome pitch. What followed was a long convalescence and an endless wait. He had the pleasant surprise of being selected in the group for the trip to Munich on November 26 in C1 (1-0 defeat), but Luis Enrique was slow to revive him. This Sunday, he once again decided not to keep him in his group for the reception in Saint-Étienne (8:45 p.m.).
-“I’m waiting for the right moment”
Guest of the Focus Dimanche show on RTL, the 29-year-old defender took stock of his situation. “I feel very, very good at the moment, otherwise no one would have heard me. My return is coming soon. This is not to reassure the fans, it is simply the truth, otherwise I would not have responded like that. They know me, I am the soldier that I am, I will be back when the time is right, I am patient and I am waiting for the right moment,” he said.
Relaunched on the French team and its hopes of competing in the 2026 World Cup, the Parisian titi (28 caps) was lucid. “The important thing is to find minutes with my club, have fun and above all become efficient again. Because without being efficient, we cannot dream of the French team. The 2026 World Cup? I of course hope to be there, but you have to be realistic I will do the job with my club to be able to be there,” he promised.
