[J15] The Tops-Flops Girondins4Ever of Granville-: usual tops, wingers not at all up to the level

This Saturday, January 11, 2025, the
Girondins de played the match of the 15th day of the championship of National 2 outside facing the club Granville. The meeting was played at Louis Dior Stadium.

Bruno Irles’ men won in added time (1-2). Andy Carroll opened the scoring from a corner from Soufiane Bahassa. But Vincent Créhin equalized with a very generous penalty. Finally Nassim Ranem gave victory on a pass from Adrien Louveau, from a corner taken by Soufiane Bahassa.

The Tops

Adrien Louveau (7/10) : We noticed, by his absence, how important he was. Despite everything, and given the circumstances and the suspensions, Adrien returned to his training position, namely that of central defender. Author of several good interventions in the first period, he was also the first booster, and the guarantee of Bordeaux’s technical quality. Same scale in the second half with the added bonus of the assist for Nassim Ranem’s winning goal. No doubt, we missed him.

Nathanaël Bai (6/10) : On the right, on the left, Nathanaël Bai is just as effective. Very calm in defense, he does not get overwhelmed, and also raises more cleanly. While he could have stopped playing football this summer, we say that it would have really been a waste. He will now have two more matches to play on the left, following the expulsion of Driss Trichard, and will sow a little more doubt and make the competition work.

Andy Carroll (6.5/10) : Invisible in the first half, the England international was simply not sought out by his teammates, who certainly wanted to show that they knew how to play other than with him at the point of release/support. It’s missed. In the second half, the “usual” game of Bordeaux returned, and our number 9 showed all his mastery in this exercise, whether by blocking the ball, or by deflecting with one or two touches of the ball. At the end of regulation time, he blocked the ball at the edge of the area, and scored a goal that we thought would be victorious (and ultimately, there were two others).

Entrance of Soufiane Bahassa : Substitute at kick-off, he had to wait until the 68th minute to set foot on the Granville pitch. And that was a good thing. Firstly because he brought impact up front and helped the Girondins go on the right path. He is the decisive passer on the corner taken by Andy Carroll. He is also at the origin of the corner given to Louveau for Ranem and the winning goal. A more than decisive entry for Souf’!

Amadou Diallo (2/10) : This time, no more pity. Balls thrown backwards in abundance while we ask him to move forward, to be offensive, and to provoke. Several times, he was caught up even though he was ahead and his technical qualities – at least the way we were presented with him – should have allowed him to make the difference. But difference has been a big word for him since the start of the season. A winger who doesn’t do it, who isn’t fast, who loses his balls up front, who isn’t decisive, who often plays behind… Is he really a winger? In fact, the big problem for the Girondins is that they have almost no competition to offer… So, obviously… Still, if the FCGB is very far from having the best attack in the championship, It’s (largely) his fault.

Travis Mutyaba (2/10) : Same fight. International, the club’s “best” paid player this season, and still not decisive with a goal or an assist since his arrival. However, it could/should have been at 10th minute, when one passes in front of him and he is only two meters from the goals… There, he chooses to put his head, while it is at the height of his knees: incomprehensible. He should also have scored in the last ten minutes when he found himself facing the opposing goalkeeper… The rest of the match was as bad as Amadou Diallo. Unable to make a difference, not speeding up the game, often coming back, he is the very prototype of the player who does not have confidence. Only, he’s going to have to wake up because we have absolutely no time to waste.
