It is one of the rare patches of blue sky near Le Mans at the start of the season. Promoted to the professional group in June with Noa Boissé, Jérémie Matumona (2006) continues to weave his web with method and application. The 18-year-old right back was not necessarily scheduled to play a starting role in his first season, but he knew how to grab the tight ends. Result: he is now one of coach Patrick Videira’s main men. This season, the Sarthe technician installed him at the right-back position, where he continues to gain depth throughout the matches (12 National matches and 5 Cup matches, for 3 assists and 1 goal).

It’s simple, the native of Sarthois has not left the starting lineup for two months now. He also ended the year 2024 in style by scoring against Marmande, in the round of 32 of the Coupe de France, his first professional goal. Intense in the duel, impactful in the air, good at reading the game, he also displayed his counter-attacking qualities on more than one occasion, with several crosses which should have been converted into assists. According to our information, the staff of the France U19 team is observing his performances, as are several French and foreign clubs. Matumona is coming to the end of his contract at the end of the season, and has, for the moment, still not extended.
