PSG is still looking for the perfect location for the pharaonic stadium project which will replace the Parc des Princes. A brand new location was secretly visited recently.
2025 will certainly be the year of the big announcement at PSG. The one which will launch the project of abandoning the Parc des Princes to allow the capital club to prepare its entry into a new ultra-modern stadium, of greater capacity, with an entire environment dreamed of by Qatar, which will then own his stadium. A billion-euro project which is progressing slowly for the moment, because major elements still need to be decided. Indeed, before talking about the future stadium, its design and its cost, we must find the ideal location. And the Parisian delegation is prospecting in Ile-de-France to find the perfect place. One that will be easy to access, not too far from Paris and not too far from the training center, easily buildable, well served and well received to avoid recourse slowing down its construction.
After the Ris-Orangis racecourse, another town in Essone is now targeted, because two locations have been identified in Massy, Le Parisien reveals this Friday. The Ile-de-France daily reveals that PSG is trying to be as discreet as possible, in order to be able to make its choice calmly and to avoid too rapid an outcry when the location has not yet been chosen. But in Massy, two locations were selected, with agricultural land on the ZAC de la Bonde, and a commercial zone at the end of its exploitation called Tuileries.
PSG tries to keep its research secret
President of the Ile-de-France region, Valérie Pécresse confirmed that everything would be done to facilitate PSG’s mission to find a new location, but that the choice fell solely to the Parisian club for the moment. Massy, well served by the RER, the future tramway, the future line 18 of the Grand Paris Express and the National or Autoroutes, has advantages even if the distance from Paris and the Poissy training center is quite radical. The choice has not yet been made and PSG continues to explore, waiting to find the rare pearl. Nevertheless, the file is moving forward discreetly and when the choice is made, then the machine will start, even if Nasser Al-Khelaïfi’s wish to see the stadium built in 2027 or 2028 seems more than utopian.
