Montemurro after OL – Dijon: “The girls were professional”

In OL’s eleventh success in the Premier League, Joe Montemurro only wanted to retain the three points. Against , the Fenottes did not put up a great match, but the performance was above all focused on the recovery after a two-week break.

What do you think of this victory for OL against Dijon (2-0)?

Joe Montemurro: In control. Obviously, you know, it’s a bit complicated for a return match after a break. But he was under control, and that’s the most important thing. The Dijon lock was difficult to break, but we did what we had to do. It was a professional performance.

Dijon did not necessarily close the game in the first half. Does that suit you a little more?

When the teams are like that, and the players are very close, and they don’t give you a lot of space, and a lot of chances, we have to find different solutions. And we found these solutions, which is important. But, you know, all the credit goes to Dijon, they came, tried and tried to resist our assaults.

Did they still cause you some problems in the first half?

Ah, a few times there have been gaps in our block, but we look at those things. But you know, it’s normal, especially when you have the ball like that, that there are one or two moments where the team has some difficulties and leaves spaces.

We even saw OL manage to score in a quick transition…

-

Yes, that shows we can do it, eh? (smiles) We probably need to do it more. We have a lot of opportunities to do it, but we are more often in the construction of the ball. But that’s sometimes what makes teams break down.

Regarding Christiane Endler? Everything is fine ?

Yes, it’s not a problem. It was more of an impact. I think it was more on the knee hitting the post. But I spoke to the staff and the player afterwards, and everything should be fine.

What is the program before ?

Thursday, we will have the opportunity to rest and take stock, and then we resume Friday, Saturday, in order to be ready for an important cup match which will be very difficult.
