PSG: Qatar invests 1 billion, the incredible new stadium

PSG will slam the door of the Parc des Princes, and the official trigger will be given in 2025. Nasser Al-Khelaïfi already has elements for his future project, and it is quite enormous.

2025 will be a revolutionary year in the history of PSG, since Nasser Al-Khelaïfi intends to launch the operation of the first change of stadium in the history of the capital club. Indeed, the Qatari president assures him, he is no longer bluffing in his desire to leave the Parc des Princes. A stadium that he admits to loving, and with unique architecture and resonance in the world, but which has become too small for the development of PSG. The French champion is falling behind what is best in Europe, from Turin to Munich, via Manchester and the big Spanish clubs, all have radically changed their stadium in recent years. This is not possible in the French capital, where Anne Hidalgo and the council are opposed to the sale of the Porte d'Auteuil stadium, considered a sacred property, like a monument.

A stadium with up to 90,000 seats

Faced with this impasse, the president of PSG made a strong decision, not to wait for a possible change of majority in the municipal elections of 2026, and therefore to embark on a new project. The final location has not yet been found, but Nasser Al-Khelaïfi already has projects under his belt, and according to Le Parisien, he is totally charmed by what the architects are offering him. These are stadiums with 50,000 to 90,000 seats, whose capacity can sometimes be flexible, with above all the enormous ambition of making them a real destination for tourists and supporters. In addition to the ultra-modern enclosure with state-of-the-art lawn, mass VIP boxes and hotel as well as integrated restaurants, around this enclosure we can find a shopping center, shops, offices, restaurants and even a medical center as well as a stadium smaller for the women's team. Projects which in total exceed one billion euros in expenditure, a sign that Qatar wants to bet very big on the future of PSG and its future stadium.

The decisive choice will be that of the site, and for the moment, none really holds up because all the criteria are not met. But according to the Ile-de- daily, it is in this year 2025 that the main decisions will be made, namely the location of the future stadium and the chosen project. The big upheaval will then be underway, and even if this project may take five to seven years to see the light of day, it will then inevitably be set for a revolution at the very heart of PSG.
