OM player from 2021 to 2024, Pedro Ruiz Delgado announced his retirement this Monday, at 24 years old.
He is a player that OM supporters probably have little or no memory of. Arriving in Marseille in 2021 from the Real Madrid reserve, Pedro Ruiz Delgado, Spanish striker, was then immediately loaned to NEC Nijmegen (Dutch first division). In the Netherlands, he only played 3 matches, before returning to the Marseille city the following summer.
A premature retirement
Promised for a bright future, he has been constantly hampered by knee problems since his cruciate ligament rupture contracted in 2020. Injuries which pushed him to retire at just 24 years old. “Football, I gave you everything and you gave me everything. THANK YOU ! », wrote on his Instagram account the one who left OM last summer.
