Heading towards the end of year celebrations… and therefore time for vacation for the formations of the fifth French division. After a complicated first part of the season due to weather conditions, Group A of National 3 will actually be able to recharge their batteries. At the end of the eleventh day, no team stood out at the top of the championship. And for good reason, few of them played all of the scheduled matches. The Téfécé reserve and Aviron Bayonnais sit at the top of this group, although with a late match to play. But the two teams, who met on the first day (editor's note: 2-0 victory for the Pitchouns), are still under threat from Canet-Roussillon. CRFC, which also has a game in hand, is only a small point away from the leading position. And the leading trio is also under threat from Bassin d'Arcachon, which has two games in hand to play!
A race for first place which promises to be hot
Unlike the other groups, Group A does not have its teams at the same stage. Indeed, Bassin d'Arcachon has only played nine matches, while the top three have come out ten times this season. Colomiers, which has as many points as the FCBA, for its part played the eleven days planned before this winter break in which we currently find ourselves. This makes it even more complicated to take stock. But the Téfécé reserve seems determined to return to the National 2 championship as quickly as possible. To do this, it will be necessary to do what is necessary upon returning to competition, and above all to win its direct confrontations with the candidates for the podium.
Aviron Bayonnais, held in check on their lawn by Alberes/Argeles (0-0), missed the opportunity to take control alone. Enough to chain two draws in a row for the Blue and White. A situation which did not benefit Canet-Roussillon, which is coming off a defeat for its one and only match in December. And the CRFC, third, therefore finds itself under threat from Bassin d'Arcachon, which still has two late matches to play. Fifth, Colomiers has as many points as Canet-Roussillon after eleven matches played. Castanet, Alberes/Argeles and Onet-Le-Château follow with fifteen points on the clock.
The Bordeaux reserve continues to sink
At the bottom of the table, only one team seems condemned to sporting relegation to Regional 1. Namely the Girondins de Bordeaux reserve. The scapular club only has three points after ten matches played. And nine points behind eleventh. While non-sporting problems have plagued the start of the season for the Navy and Whites, the reserve team does not seem to be a priority in the minds of the leaders. And the FCGB will have to go to the lawn of the Toulouse leader as soon as the championships resume to try to get their first victory of the season. Otherwise, US Lège-Cap Ferret also has a late match to play. Penultimate with ten points, the USLCF could climb to the tenth place held by Blagnac so far. Only the Bordeaux reserve therefore seems almost condemned to relegation at the end of the season. Although nothing is decided yet.
To summarize
Heading towards the end of year celebrations… and therefore time for vacation for the formations of the fifth French division. After a complicated first part of the season due to weather conditions, Group A of National 3 will actually be able to recharge their batteries.
