AS Saint-Étienne plans to strengthen each line of its team during the next winter transfer window, with the exception of the goalkeeper position. The aim is to bring a central defender, a midfielder and a striker to newly appointed coach Eirik Horneland.
The club is closely monitoring several players to strengthen its midfield. Among these, Loreintz Rosier from Fortuna Sittard and Abdoulaye Kanté from Troyes particularly attract attention. These players have been monitored by Saint-Etienne leaders for several days.
A new name is added to the list of potential recruits. According to L'Équipe, Baptiste Santamaria is also in the sights of AS Saint-Étienne. Currently at Stade Rennais, the French midfielder does not benefit from sufficient playing time.
The Saint-Etienne club could take advantage of this situation to integrate Santamaria into its squad. This transfer could prove beneficial for both parties, the player is looking for new opportunities to shine on the field.
Baptiste Santamaria, former Angers player, is currently under contract with Rennes until June 2026. His value is estimated at around 7 million euros by Transfermarkt. A transfer could therefore be considered this winter.
AS Saint-Étienne hopes that these reinforcements will allow the team to strengthen significantly to face the challenges of the season. The next few weeks promise to be crucial in the team's preparation.
