Former U17 international with Algeria, Rayan Hassad announced his departure from Olympique de Marseille this Sunday.
Arrived at the training center Marseille Olympic in the summer of 2021 from SC Air Bel, Rayan Hassad put an end to his Marseille adventure this Sunday.
“It is time for me to announce the end of my adventure with Olympique de Marseille. Thank you all for your support. I will keep you posted on the rest of my story. See you soon“, wrote the 19-year-old attacking midfielder on his Instagram account.
This decision follows several tumultuous months. Last summer, the former U17 international Algerian had in fact been laid off by the Marseille club. This sanction followed the publication of a controversial post in which he wished a happy birthday to his Congolese teammate Chancel Mbemba, excluded from the professional group. Hassad had also used the term “cousin“, which OM had interpreted as a provocation in relation to the altercation between Mbemba and Ali Zarrak, former head of the club's Pro 2, where the same term had been used.
Half a season behind
Other reasons would have explained Hassad's dismissalaccused of insulting a teammate and being late for training. In this context, the kid, who has to his credit 4 matches with the OM reserve (1 goal) and 6 matches in the Youth League, had still not appeared this season with the U19s or the reserve. Far from these problems, the young Fennec will now try to bounce back in a more serene context.
As the winter transfer window approaches, his profile could interest more than one suitor. Last summer, there were rumors of interest from teams like Atletico Madrid and Olympique Lyonnais. Ligue 2 clubs, such as Martigues and Dunkirk, likely to offer him more playing time, were also mentioned.
