28-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Fabian Ruiz has established himself as a midfield executive. Unfortunately, unlike his Euro 2024 with Spain, most of his performances in the Paris jersey are unconvincing. On the waves of RMC Sportjournalist Daniel Riolo spoke on this subject and even believes that the Spaniard cannot integrate into the Parisian locker room.
Riolo «He's not good at PSG, maybe he should leave.»
“We were obviously dazzled by his Euro, but now, the before and after, that’s enough. There is nothing, it is nothingness. Or like Ancelotti did, you put him in front of the defense as a last chance. He's not there, he's completely lost. It must also be said that he is better with Spain than PSG because he is more comfortable. He is more comfortable on a human level in the locker room with Spain.
Fabian Ruiz is not very good in the Parisian locker room because the guys are not like him, don't speak like him, don't have the same culture as him. He doesn't blend in in this locker room, he's not very comfortable. He talks to 2-3 people, the rest are not his gang. He’s not good at PSG, maybe he should leave.”
It's difficult to really judge the well-being or otherwise of a player in the locker room. We are wary, especially since Daniel Riolo is known (in particular) for striking formulas and exaggerations. Perhaps he went a little far, even if he was able to receive some echoes.
But it is clear that on the pitch Fabian Ruiz does not bring what he should. Technically, its contribution remains weak and unconvincing. But once again, this is one of the points that PSG must improve to have a refining squad.
It is also clear that Fabian Ruiz is not the player who fits Luis Enrique's system. But on the other hand he can bring physicality and experience, which remain two important points. Now we will have to make choices because the capital club cannot afford to have glaring shortcomings in certain positions and not remedy them.
