Zan Vipotnik left the Girondins de Bordeaux this summer, following the abandonment of professional status, as well as the termination of professional contracts. The Slovenian international therefore chose to join the English second division, in the Championship, with the Swansea club.
Number 9 in the back, only scored his third goal of the season on Wednesday evening in the league, but a very nice goal (see or review at the bottom of the page), during the 2-1 victory against Derby County. Thanks to this victory, Swansea moved up to 11th place in the Championship standings.
Via BBC Sport Wales, the former Bordeaux player gave his feelings.
“I feel really good. This is a difficult championship. When you start winning, scoring early in a match, it becomes easier and I hope we continue next Saturday. It's not easy to wear this number, but it's an incredible challenge to wear number 9 at Swansea. It's good for me and for the team. It's incredible to score in the first five minutes, it helps the team a lot. It’s my third goal of the season, it was an extraordinary goal and I will try to do it every week.”
