PSG has several important players at the end of their contract in June 2026 and has already completed or made very good progress on the extension of two of them. Several other cases of holders are pending, but PSG still has time to see what happens before deciding.
To govern is to plan. And in managing a workforce, the question of contract terminations is crucial. After seeing Kylian Mbappé leave for free last summer, PSG no longer intends to lose any executives for free and can already rejoice in not having any member of its first team at the end of their contract in 2025.
On the other hand, several important players are at the end of their contract in June 2026, that is to say in a little over a year and a half, including four players who have had more or less playing time since the start of the season: Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma (25 years old, 990 minutes played), right back Achraf Judge (26 years old, 1119 minutes played), Portuguese left back Nuno Mendes (22 years old, 750 minutes played) and the versatile Spanish attacking midfielder Marco Asensio (28 years old, 640 minutes played).
Hakimi extended, Mendes will follow
According to several French media, including L'Equipe, PSG has completed the extension of Achraf Hakimi, now linked to the club until 2029 with an increased salary. An extension signed but not yet formalized which should be followed by that of Nuno Mendes, probably until 2029 as well, even if the French media have not specified it.
And after? In today's edition, L'Equipe explains that the Donnarumma and Asensio cases have not yet been decided on the PSG side. Same for Presnel Kimpembe et Arnau holdsalso at the end of his contract in 2026. Last September, the Italian goalkeeper's agent assured in the columns of Tuttosport that an extension was in the pipeline.
PSG has not yet decided for Donnarumma and Asensio
“He still has two years left, there is no urgency. But yes, there have already been the first discussions in this direction. Luis Campos even admitted publicly, he would like to keep Gigio. For our part, we have the desire to stay. For me, it's a source of pride to have a player like him in one of the most important clubs in the world. Today he is the flag bearer of our national team. It could also become one for PSG. It would be a pleasure”confided Enzo Raiola.
Are Donnarumma's disappointing performances in the Champions League pushing PSG to take their time? It's a possibility. For Marco Asensio, who is often used by Luis Enrique as a false nine, his average start to the season does not necessarily invite rushing, despite his recent hat-trick of assists in Angers. Presnel Kimpembe has not played since February 2023 and the club has no reason to rush either. Finally, Arnau Tenas is limited to a number 3 role and even if Luis Enrique appreciates his profile, he has not given him a single minute this season.
