Capital match for ASSE this Saturday. The Greens welcome Montpellier, bottom of Ligue 1. No room for error for Olivier Dall'Oglio and his men. The AS Saint-Etienne coach presented himself at a press conference this Thursday.
Important match for ASSE
Olivier Dall'Oglio (Coach ASSE) : “Regarding the pressure for this match, it is always the same: it is a match that we must win. We have to put all possible ingredients in to win this match, because we need points, just like Montpellier. But we must be particularly determined. International weeks are always a little complicated, because we don't have the whole group, but it's part of the daily life of all the teams.
Favorite? I wouldn't say it's favorite status for us there. It's more of a match between two teams looking for points. Montpellier remains on a great victory against Brest and has experienced quite a few upheavals, with a change of coach and the recruitment of a key player in defense. They are in the process of reorganizing.
So it's an important and difficult match, because they are two teams struggling to get their heads above water. We are in a good dynamic in terms of state of mind and progress, but this must translate into points.
We need to have confidence. We felt in Lyon that we were much more solid. But we will have to confirm and show our solidarity. There is more understanding and coordination. Work pays. We're doing big video sessions and it's starting to pay off. We will have to confirm.”
ODO surprised by Mouton
Olivier Dall'Oglio (Coach ASSE) : “Louis Mouton? His loan was beneficial to him. He is an intelligent boy who knew how to learn and play. Ligue 2 is a good learning experience. For the staff it's a good surprise because they have really progressed since the start of the season. He was discovering the level. He held on. He's serious. He knew he would have space and he knew how to take that space. He listens a lot and puts intensity into his work. He is surprising in what he does. When it remains in its register, it is an added value. He has reached a milestone. He is on the right track. He is a determined boy who brings something to the team. We worked a lot with him on gathering information. He needs to gain experience. The matches will make him progress. He has a good shot. He needs to sharpen it. In the finish he can bring more. Including on set pieces.”
