LFP Media wants to give visibility to its coaches who will be at the forefront in a new show and a new podcast. Called Box to Box and available on the Ligue 1 McDonald's YouTube channel as well as on all podcast platforms (Apple podcasts, YouTube podcasts, Spotify), the show will give the floor to the coaches of the French championship in a longer format. Jérôme Cazadieu, editorial director at LFP Media, expresses the will of the body. “We wanted to highlight our coaches with a new format, both in video and podcast. It's quite rare to hear a coach speak at length and reveal his secrets as a manager or tactician. The McDonald's Ligue 1 is surely the championship in Europe where the quality and density of coaches are the greatest, with teams that offer a lot of play. And it's also a subject that fascinates our fans. »
Luka Elsner first guest
For this first episode, Luka Elsner speaks for an hour, looking back on his childhood, between Slovenia and France. But also his relationship with football thanks to a father who was a Yugoslav international and a grandfather, coach of Austria. “At the very highest level, there are a lot of people who like the pressure side, and thrive on it. I have a bit of an anxious side. The constant pressure of results, I find it heavy.” He also talks about his varied experiences as a coach in Slovenia, Cyprus, Belgium and France (at Amiens SC, Le Havre AC and Stade de Reims) which shaped his convictions as a manager and his playing principles. The coach is there to convince the players about the ideas, the way the team should play to succeed, to win, to take a direction together and to give themselves the means to achieve it.
