Future boss of Paris FC and representative of the Agache company, Antoine Arnault detailed this Wednesday the contours of his collaboration with Jürgen Klopp within the Parisian club. The ex-Liverpool coach joined the Red Bull group and seems to have a weakness for the PFC.
A choice of the heart and reason. Passionate about Football, Antoine Arnault admitted that he has not yet mastered all the ins and outs. But the man who will become the boss of the PFC via the Agache family holding company knew how to surround himself before buying the Parisian club. In addition to a minority stake from Red Bull in the capital (15% by 2027), the new strong man of Paris FC will be supported by Jürgen Klopp.
>> Antoine Arnault presents his ambitions to the PFC
Appointed head of football within the Austrian firm, the former iconic Liverpool coach will help the current leader of Ligue 2 in its sporting project. A role that really seems to excite the German technician.
“So I don't want to speak for him but in fact, when Jürgen Klopp and I were talking the other day, that's what I felt (a special place for the PFC in the Red Bull galaxy). But it’s quite logical,” said Bernard Arnault’s son during an interview with RMC Sport on Wednesday. “Finally it is true that when we look at the project as it exists today, there is an anomaly in Paris. The fact of having a single large club, immense certainly, but only one club. We are the the only large city in Europe to have only one. Most large cities sometimes have two, more like between five and ten in the case of London for example.
Klopp 'excited' about something other than the purely sporting aspect
Anxious not to enter into a “fictitious” rivalry with PSG of which he remains a fervent supporter, Antoine Arnault praised the great desire of Jürgen Klopp. Having just left the Reds during the off-season, the German ultimately didn't wait long before taking on a new challenge. And those interested in immersing themselves body and soul in this ambitious project at the PFC (via Red Bull).
“Yes he is excited. There is both the sporting side which excites him but also I think the side of creating another story, building something else around this great Parisian project if only in terms of brand building”, continued Antoine Arnault when detailing the outlines of the PFC version of the LVMH group. “We know a little about that, if I may modestly say so.
“It’s extraordinary, it’s super galvanizing to say to ourselves that we will be able, through a magnificent brand in addition, Paris Football Club, to build both in terms of sport but also in terms of development, a global brand for the years to come .”
Strong words at the microphone of RMC Sport which Antoine Arnault then confirmed at a press conference: “We have already spent a lot of time with them. I have been able to speak several times with Klopp, he is very excited by the project and the prospect of coming to work with the teams here Red Bull also has absolutely revolutionary data tools which will help us with the scouting part.
