Chancel Mbemba is going through a special season. Since Roberto de Zerbi arrived in the south of France, the one who regularly wore the captain's armband is no longer considered at the Commandery. And while he was asked to pack his bags this summer, no agreement was ultimately reached for him to leave the club. As a result, after being placed in the loft, he was integrated back into the squad for the start of sessions, before carrying out training alone outside the group, as explained the Team in today's edition.
Mbemba refused Montpellier
The situation therefore does not really seem to be getting better between the 30-year-old defender and his leaders. As proof, he recently refused an offer from Montpellier to relaunch himself. While he is under contract until June 2025, Marseille management hopes to be able to sell him this winter in order to obtain a small compensation, but that does not seem to be to the Congolese's taste. The latter is in no hurry and favors a move next summer, when he will be free, in order to receive a nice signing bonus. For the moment, the situation is completely blocked, and it is difficult to see how this could be resolved in the weeks to come.

To summarize
The situation does not seem to be improving between Chancel Mbemba and Olympique de Marseille. Indeed, the defender continues to train separately even though he refused an offer from Montpellier in October.
