Three years after his death, Bernard Tapie, the legendary former president of OM, should soon be honored by the Marseille club with a statue of him placed on the square in front of the Vélodrome stadium. The inauguration could take place in 2025.
A matter of weeks, probably. And final technical details, so that the statue can be placed safely on the esplanade of the Vélodrome stadium. But OM supporters, or even the Marseillais more simply, don't have too long to wait before finding Bernard Tapie near their stadium.
As his son, Laurent, recently confirmed, the statue of the Boss is ready. Representing the big European evening in Munich, in 1993, when Tapie was carried in triumph by his players (it was the same at the Vélodrome a few hours later) after the victory in the C1 final against AC Milan. Note that the work was made possible thanks to donations from 3,000 people.
