Many observers, given the financial situation announced by OL in recent weeks, clearly feared this catastrophic scenario. There is no doubt that the supporters were hoping for a nice surprise which did not come. The DNCG, which analyzed the financial situation yesterday after hearing John Textor and Laurent Prudhomme, decided by pronouncing a demotion as a precautionary measure for the gone club, which will therefore go down to Ligue 2 whatever happens at the end of the season if the financial situation is not significantly improved by then.
The arrival of Almada not threatened, a priori
This sanction is not the only one since OL must also deal with a control of its payroll but also a ban on recruiting for payment. However, this decision poses a major problem since the gone club had already recorded the arrival of Thiago Almada, the Argentine playmaker purchased by Botafogo, and intended to join Lyon in January. Is this deal therefore called into question? No according to the Team which believes that Almada should not fall within the scope of this ban. Good news for OL who will undoubtedly be forced to sell Rayan Cherki, their current playmaker, to replenish their coffers in the coming weeks.
