This Monday evening took place the Quinas de Ouro ceremony, during which different personalities of Portuguese football were rewarded. This was particularly the case for Cristiano Ronaldo, who was awarded the Platinum Quinas, an award celebrating the love of the five-time Ballon d'Or for his selection. In his speech, CR7 took the opportunity to send a small tackle to those who do not wish to wear the Seleção jersey : « There is nothing more rewarding than representing this selection. This is why sometimes I am disappointed with certain players who do not want to play for the selection. »
Without much surprise, this declaration was repeated almost everywhere in the Portuguese and international press, and Nuno Mendeswho was present at a press conference this Tuesday, was invited to give his opinion on his captain's comments. But the Parisian side preferred to talk about his own experience rather than enter into controversies which would frankly not be welcome: “ Everyone has their own opinion. I speak for myself: I am very proud to represent Portugal, I think it shows. I give my all on the field and in training. He has his opinion, I have mine. And regarding me, I will always be available to be there. »
