TFC beat Rennes on the 11th day of Ligue 1 (2-0), notably by applying the strategy of their video analyst and head of set pieces.
The first goal of TFC, victorious in Rennes this Sunday (2-0), was copiously celebrated by the players but also by the members of the technical staff. And among them, one man must have been particularly happy: Aurélien Dubéarn, the person responsible for video analysis and in charge of set pieces. Because the goal, scored by Joshua King on a two-touch action, with a service from Aboukhlal following a quickly played touch by Dönnum, was his strategy.

“It’s also Aurélien’s reward, we must congratulate him,” smiles Carles Martinez Novell. “To tell you the truth, we were still working a lot on this the day before the match, and we did well to insist.” Hours of work which had already almost borne fruit this season, as captain Vincent Sierro explains: “Aurélien always gives lots of advice on set-pieces, corners or free kicks, and throw-ins. We were all close to scoring quite a few times this season, there on the first launch…” “The idea, develops Yann Gboho, is to make an appeal/counter-call to be able to cross.”
