Mastiffs are gaining weight. After the A and the Espoirs, it is the French U20 and U18 teams who have called up young residents of LOSC.
The heat of the North is gradually integrating the French ranks, as evidenced by the recent selections of Lucas Chevalier and Ayyoub Bouaddi, but not only that. The Mastiffs did not stop there and placed four other elements in the French team. The first, the youngest, are none other than
Soriba Diaoune (17 years old), who scored his second goal in National 3 this Saturday, and
Ramses Imbondo (17 years old). Accustomed to switching from the reserve to the U19 group, the two Lille players were called up for the first time by Landry Chauvin with the French U18 team. In total, twenty-two players were selected for this gathering during which the Bleuets will play two friendly matches:
- Wednesday November 13, 2024 : Türkiye – France, in Sapanca (Türkiye, 1:00 p.m.)
- Saturday November 16, 2024 : France – Netherlands, in Gölcük (Türkiye, 1:00 p.m.)
Finally, Lisandro Olmeta (19 years old) and
Ousmane Touré (19 years old) in the higher category which is Bernard Diomède's French U20 team. The second will nevertheless not be able to join the first named, still not ready for the competition due to a thigh injury. It will be preserved throughout the international break. Twenty-five players were selected by the French coach to play three friendly matches from November 14 to 18. These games allow the U20 national team to continue its preparation for its number one objective: the 2025 World Cup scheduled for Chile (from September 27 to October 19, 2025).
