Ange Bachiri delivered a poignant testimony on his last day of work at the Girondins de Bordeaux on France Bleu Gironde. He is a known face in the Girondins professional group, since, for 26 years, he has been responsible for the security of the first team.
He was fired. Here is an excerpt of his reaction this Wednesday morning.
“Sadness” and “Brutal”
Angel Bachiri: “It was very complicated this morning (Wednesday) when I woke up. I quickly decided to go shopping to try to think of something else (smiles). It's difficult to say to myself that I'm not going to return to Haillan again and that a page is turning. But I hope it will be okay. Above all, I need time to digest. There is also a lot of sadness to see what my club has become (…) I still have three years to go before retirement. My goal was to finish at the club and above all to pass the baton. So, it’s true that it’s brutal to leave the club today. For the moment, I can't imagine myself at all.
As I told the management, if there is a need, a concern, I will be the first to help the club, because I love my club. And then, I became very attached to the young people who arrived at the club in recent weeks.”
