Without a club since June 2023 and his departure from PSG, Keylor Navas has not abandoned football. Far from the European landscape, “El Monstruo” continues to upgrade every day in his native country, Costa Rica. This summer, four clubs from the top 5 in Europe even offered him concrete offers. But at the last minute, he refused, wanting to maintain his family stability. According to those close to him, he even trains with his club which opened the doors to Europe for him, Deportivo Saprissa, 4th in the Costa Rican championship.
A return planned for January in Europe?
The former Real Madrid and PSG goalkeeper is therefore talking twice as much to find a club in Europe during the winter transfer window. His goal is to continue his career at the high level for two more years. He could have signed in September at FC Barcelona as a medical joker, to replace Marc André Ter Stegen, who suffered a serious knee injury for the entire season. It was ultimately Szczesny who joined the Blaugrana. The goalkeeper with six Champions Leagues is confident about a return to Europe but does not close the doors to other proposals.
