Wendie Renard can't take it anymore

During an interview given to West the player of the French team indeed indicated: « I am saddened to see that we are forced to demonstrate peacefully to demand what should be logical.. This is a legitimate movement. The West Indian people and those of the French Overseas Territories in general suffer enormously from the high cost of living. (…) Why push the heads of the West Indians like this? Why take advantage of it? I don't understand… It's astonishing. Sometimes we wonder if we are really French… It's hard to ask ourselves this question. We need a law for a better understanding and better treatment of the lives of people in the French Overseas Territories”.

In , her native island, Renard herself was able to face price problems: « The cart is not full when we go shopping. We hesitate between buying a nice piece of meat or a piece of cod. I notice that basic products are extremely expensive. Even basic necessities, those for eating. It's incredible… For years, the West Indian people have suffered in silence. I know what it is. I sometimes see my own family struggling. I have already sent packages to my loved ones.” Note that on Saturday October 26, the deputies adopted a provision proposed by the government aimed at exempting from VAT, in Martinique, Guadeloupe and , a list of essential products from January 1, 2025.
