Since his arrival at the head of PSG, Luis Enrique has not hesitated to shake up the statuses. No one can get past his demands anymore, and that goes for big stars too. The Movistar documentary showed that Kylian Mbappé, last season, could have been reframed for his lack of defensive work. This time, it's Bradley Barcola's turn to be targeted.
In his interview with Le Parisien, the latter reveals that his coach very recently refocused him on the subject of his defensive work. “I started defending less, and he liked it less. We must have seen each other two or three times during discussion sessions, and it's really interesting. During the match, we don't realize the small efforts we can make for the team but which can optimize performance.
Barcola thought Luis Enrique was exaggerating
And Bradley Barcola did not fail to emphasize that his perception, which was not necessarily the right one, had been able to evolve thanks to the exchange with his coach. “Actually, I did it without realizing it. When the coach caught me at the end of the matches, I said to myself: “He's exaggerating, I defended, that's not possible.” But seeing him on video made me understand that he had totally reason. I added it to my palette and even in Saturday's match against Lens, I made a lot of effort,” confided the Parisian striker.
