Lately, and more precisely on September 11, a player trained at the Girondins announced his departure from Bordeaux:
Yaël Mouanga. He could have had his chance, to be an executive despite his young age, in National 2, and to represent the club which trained him, but he finally opted for the floor below and the National 3, by committed in favor of the Montpellier reserve.
Like the others before him, when he left he wanted
“sincerely a return to better fortune for its training club because a great club never dies…”, while being “tremendously proud to have been from Bordeaux and to have worn this emblematic jersey”. By chance, or rather by lack of players in central defense and especially given the disastrous results of the first team, Jean-Louis Gasset called on him, and offered him his first in Ligue 1.
At a press conference, Jean-Louis Gasset
rightly returned to this chance offered to the former Bordeaux player.
“He started timidly, but like the whole team (smile). He also experienced the disaster scenario of 0-2 after eight minutes… But when we analyze his entire match and when we see his stats, we still say to ourselves that he is a good defender. He won duels. For a first as a professional… Nobody knew him. I knew him from the Girondins de Bordeaux, and I took him on Thursday to play on Sunday… It was a little quick. But I am not disappointed with his performance because he has quality.”
