The Greens,
who won 5-1 against Togo last Thursday
showed great things offensively and will have to try to repeat this performance this evening in Lomé.

Review the defense

The meeting is also an opportunity for Vladimir Petkovic to
review a sometimes weakened defense even during this last match against Togo, particularly in the first period as shown by the Algerian defensive error on a Togolese goal.

The national coach could, why not, opt for

a five-a-side defense this evening as he did before against Liberia which would allow the Greens
to make the most of their offensive potential. However, different aspects must be taken into account. The Greens group deprived of its right-backs, such as Youcef Atal, complicates this choice.

The Mahrez case

For some time now, Riyad Mahrez is no longer unanimous in the National Team. His declining performances cast doubt on his status as a starter, long considered indisputable. During the match against Togo on Thursday evening, the captain of the Greens missed the match and was not as impactful as usual.

Different options are presented to the coach: reposition him or dismiss him. This evening’s match could then be, for the captain of the Greens, an opportunity to catch up or deviate from the coach’s plans.
