Rafael Fernandes (22 years old) is the tallest outfield player (1.91m) in Bruno Genesio’s squad. LOSC has often relied on all these qualities in recent months. With seventeen goals scored in this way, on set pieces in the league, the Mastiffs manage to look the biggest European teams eye to eye, doing as well as clubs such as Manchester City, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich. Only Bayer Leverkusen of Xabi Alonso, Arsenal and Gabriel Magalhães, Everton and AC Milan do better in this area. LOSC is also the only French team represented among the most successful teams in the field within the Big-5, a real model to follow in France.
