Mbemba, the knee of discord
The case Chancellor Mbemba continues to shake Olympique de Marseille. The Congolese defender’s lawyer received yesterday notification of a 21-day salary deduction, due to his absence from medical examinations upon his return from selection in September. The sanction covers the period during which the player had already been laid off, starting September 14. This is already the second incident of this type this season: in August, Mbemba was sanctioned after a clash with Ali Zarrak, head of the Pro 2 section, with an initial salary deduction of 14 days, later reduced to 6 days by the LFP. The player is expected in the national team for the matches against Tanzania (October 10 and 15) and could rejoin the Olympian squad upon his return. However, tension remains palpable around his state of health, OM leaders could highlight the fact that they do not yet consider him fit due to a knee injury, which the player disputes.
Rowe: “It’s disappointing”
Jonathan Rowe reacted on DAZN at the end of the match not won by OM against Angers (1-1), despite his nice goal in the 51st minute of play: “It’s disappointing.
