AS Monaco is pleased to announce the extension of the contract of Aleksandr Golovin, its midfielder, for three additional seasons. The Russian international is now linked with the Principality Club until June 2029.
A senior player in the Monegasque group, used six times since August, Aleksandr Golovin actively participated in the good start to the season for the Rouge et Blanc, co-leaders of Ligue 1 after six days and authors of a victory (against Barcelona, 2-1) and a draw (at Zagreb, 2-2) in the Champions League.
More than 200 matches with AS Monaco
The Monegasque number 10 had already participated in the most prestigious European competition during his first season in Monaco, in 2018-2019. Since then, the midfielder has played 209 games in the diagonal jersey (31 goals, 39 assists), making him both the oldest and most capped player in the professional squad.

The player trained at CSKA Moscow, 28 years old since May 30, comes from two full seasons with the Red and White, during which he played 72 matches and was decisive on 28 occasions (14 goals, 14 assists). With 33 assists made in L1 since his arrival in the summer of 2018, he is quite simply the best Monegasque player in the exercise, ahead of Joao Moutinho (26), according to figures from Opta.
