Nico Schönefeldt, DIHK head of training, sees the results of the DGB survey of August 22 as “great praise for the training companies”. But he also makes it clear: “The fact that around 70 percent of trainees are satisfied or even very satisfied with their training is not a given. This good result, which has been around for years, also corresponds to the experience of the Chambers of Industry and Commerce.”

Tens of thousands of trainers in companies are doing “excellent work,” praises Schönefeldt. This is also demonstrated by the above-average results in many IHK professions. “Critical comments on possible weak points are always welcome,” he makes clear. “Because everyone who is committed to practical training wants to get even better.”

Modern concepts, flat hierarchies

The training companies do a lot to ensure that the trainees feel comfortable, says Schönefeldt. This is also shown by the current DIHK training survey: “According to this, numerous companies are modernizing their training concepts and ensuring attractive and high-quality training. Almost two thirds of the IHK companies score points with flat hierarchies and modern IT technology in order to attract trainees.”

And: “If, despite everything, there are difficulties during the training, the training advisors of the Chambers of Industry and Commerce are available to provide the trainees and their companies with advice and support.”
