The leader of the Republic of Values party, Thierno Alassane Sall, expressed his indignation on his X account regarding the luxurious lifestyle of former President Macky Sall. He revealed that the latter had made a three-day trip to Abidjan on board a private jet.
Thierno Alassane Sall claims to have “met many heads of state travelling on commercial airlines, with regard to Thabo Mbeki or Pierre Buyoya”.
He maintains, however, “at a time when former heads of state of major world powers such as France, the United Kingdom or Germany favor commercial flights, this extravagance raises questions. Can Senegal, ranked among the poorest countries, remain indifferent to the insolent and ostentatious pomp of its former President, royally installed in Marrakech and who is said to own a Falcon 7X?”, wrote the MP.
Furthermore, “would this move to Morocco, carried out without an inventory and which would not have concerned only the photo albums of his two terms, be in accordance with the terms of the Cape Manuel Protocol?”, asked Thierno Alassane Sall.
