Juve beats Verona 3-0, is alone in command

VERONA (ITALPRESS) – Juventus conquers the Bentegodi, prevails 3-0 over Verona, with a brace from Vlahovic and a goal from Savona, and takes the lead in the Serie A standings alone. The team recently entrusted to the leadership of Thiago Motta is the only one to have full points in the championship after two matchdays. Six points in the bag, six goals scored and no goals conceded.
After his devastating debut, Zanetti promoted Mosquera to the starting lineup, while Thiago Motta confirmed Mbangula and launched Savona from the first minute. The young full-back also made himself known for his attacks, such as in the 23rd minute, when he collected a pass from Vlahovic on a cross from Locatelli and scored, which was disallowed for a clear offside. All this in a phase in which Juventus were the preferred option, after having tamed the initial resourcefulness of Verona, who implemented an aggressive attitude, also creating some problems for the Bianconeri with Livramento and Mosquera, well closed down by Bremer, but without creating any real scoring opportunities.
Juventus then found space in the center and took the lead in the 28th minute: Locatelli recovered the ball from Duda, served Yildiz who in turn fed Vlahovic, who was able to resist three defenders and beat Montipò. Eleven minutes later, another quick move by the Bianconeri, with Cambiaso passing to Mbangula, who sent in a cross for Savona to double the score. The knockout blow came at the start of the second half, with the usual Mbangula skipping past Tchatchoua: the Verona defender attempted to intervene but ended up tripping his opponent, conceding a penalty converted by Vlahovic. It was the episode that effectively closed the match, as Zanetti’s team seemed to have no more energy to react. Harroui tries to rekindle his team with some interesting ideas, but without making himself dangerous, while Di Gregorio closes without problems on the close-range touch of Tengstedt on a cross from Tchatchoua.
