Donald Glover has canceled the remaining dates of his musical alter ego Childish Gambino’s tour. In a message on
Glover writes that after his show in New Orleans he had to go to the hospital for examination. After more testing, it became clear that it was not going to be possible to do the American part of the tour. “I now have surgery scheduled and I need time to heal. I need to get serious about my recovery,” Glover wrote. “We have made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the North American tour as well as the UK and European dates,” the artist said. He promises that people will get their ticket money back.
Last month, Glover had already reported that Childish Gambino’s farewell tour would be postponed, but now it is no longer happening at all. The artist does not reveal what exactly is wrong with him.
Childish Gambino was also scheduled to perform in the Netherlands on November 24, at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. Although the singer specifically mentions the performances in North America and Europe, it is not clear whether his planned performances in Australia and New Zealand will also not take place next year.
