The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus feature the same size as their predecessors, with 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screens, respectively. However, the screens are now brighter, reaching 2000 nits of peak brightness and as dim as 1 nit. The sides remain squared off, and the Dynamic Island is still at the top of the screen, with a USB-C port at the bottom.
A new Camera Control button debuts with the iPhone 16, replacing the Ring/Silent Button from the Pro models. The Camera Control button is flush to the surface and covered in sapphire glass. A single click launches the camera, while a double click allows for adjustments like zoom, depth, and other settings.
The iPhone 16 features a 48MP main camera, capable of shooting 24MP shots and 2x zoom using the middle 12MP pixels. A new 12MP ultrawide camera with autofocus joins the main camera, enabling macro photography. The new camera design also supports Spatial Capture, allowing you to shoot Spatial Photos.
The iPhone 16 duo is powered by the A18 chip, which is 30% faster than the A16 chip in the iPhone 15. This new chip enables Apple Intelligence features on the iPhone 16 models, which will be available in future updates. The A18 chip also offers improved gaming performance and hardware-level ray-tracing capabilities.
